Top 5 Oscars Red Carpet & Vanity Fair Party Gowns of 2016

The Oscars is pretty much everybody’s favorite part of Awards Season.  From the recognition of films to gowns on the red carpet, it’s a tv moment that I never miss for anything! I have to admit though that the Oscars Fashion is a larger part of all of the hype for me.  E!’s 10th anniversary Red Carpet  coverage took over half of my afternoon considering it started at 5:30 in the afternoon.  But no complaints here because my eyes were glued to the screen more so than during the actual Oscars.

I made a list as I was watching the red carpet.  I created two separate Top 5’s that cover the Oscars Red Carpet & The Vanity Fair Party.  I just couldn’t narrow it down any further! Check out what my favorites are below and leave your #1’s in the comments below!

Favorites of the night: Naomi Watts & Taylor Swift

Favorites in both categories: Rachel McAdams stuns in both gowns.

Favorite trend: sequins (metallics) and cut outs

Favorite bombshell look of the night: Miranda Kerr

5. Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

Jennifer Lawrence was a little late to the Oscars, but she made it just in time to show off her stunning figure in this beautiful nude and black number.  She paired the lingerie inspired Dior Haute Couture gown with a simple necklace and earring set from Chopard.  If you’re going to be late to the carpet, you have some big shoes to fill because with this breathtakingly beautiful dress nobody seemed to notice that she was only on the carpet for a short period of time.

4. Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse Ronan in Custom Calvin Klein Collection

I couldn’t keep my eyes off of these dark emerald sequin dress.  Metallics and sequins are the trends of the moment & Saoirse combined them and blew everybody out of the water with this gown.  This gown is such a staple for me because you can literally wear little to no jewelry, but still create such a WOW moment on the carpet.  Saoirse paired the emerald, sequin dress with Chopard emerald and diamond jewels.

3. Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner in Custom Atelier Versace

Among some of the younger acctress’, Jennifer Garner seriously blew some out of the water.  I was expecting more of a conservative look from her, but when she walked out on the red carpet my jaw dropped.  This beautiful gown is sophisticated and shows off her amazing posture and beautiful body.  The gown was a one shoulder Atelier Versace gown that had a sparkling bodice that she paired with Rene Caovilla heels and Neil Lane diamonds and emeralds.

2. Rachel McAdams

Entertainment: 88th Academy Awards

Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier

As my favorite actress, Rachel McAdams always is a favorite of mine.  With such a beautiful on trend halter neckline and high slit, Rachel knows how to stun on the red carpet.  Keeping it simple up top and party on the bottom she looks elegant is this dark emerald August Getty Atelier gown.  She paired the dress with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Stuart Weitzman heels and Piaget drop earrings.

1. Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts in Armani Privé

Last, but most certainly not least, is my favorite of the night.. Naomi Watts in Armani Privé.  I was speechless when she walked across the red carpet in this sequin gown.  The strapless style was so feminine and really worked with her short bob haircut and beautiful necklace.  She sparkled in every way and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her.  I am all about color which is why my eye was drawn to this beautiful number.  This mermaid look had a blue and purple chevron pattern that she paired with Bulgari diamonds.

Vanity Fair Party

5. Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld in Elie Saab

A little black sequin dress is the staple of all gowns on the carpet.  Hailee’s beautiful frame was perfectly accentuated in this cinched at the waist gown.  Her simple hair and makeup stood aside for her breathtaking gown.  Steinfeld stunned in an Elie Saab dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

4. Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams in Naeem Khan

Rachel McAdams: Pretty in Pink!

Sequins were definitely the trend of the night and McAdams did it so right!  Her thigh high slit and deep v neck was perfectly suited for the Vanity Fair Party.  She worked the Best Dressed List so well that she landed on both the Oscars Red Carpet list and the Vanity Fair Party.  She paired her sequined gown from Naeem Khan with NIWAKA Fine Jewelry and silver stilettos.

3. Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio in Balmain

Alessandra is my favorite Brazilian model from the runway to the red carpet.  She is beautiful, sexy, and exotic.  She never does a dress wrong especially at the Vanity Fair Party in this black floor-length gown.  The high neck gold cuff and beautifully crafted cinched waist complimented the model’s exotic look and take on sophisticated fashion.  I absolutely loved this look, but anything would look good on her.

2. Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr in KaufmanFranco

Not the only red bombshell on the carpet, but definitely my favorite.  Miranda Kerr stunned in a body hugging red cut out  KaufmanFranco gown that she carried with an Atelier Swarovski clutch.  Her body looked stunning in this gown and the red lip was such a great choice.  For a model, Kerr knows what drapes well on her body and she looked absolutely breathtaking.

1. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift in Alexandre Vauthier

Swift always takes my breath away.  She is sophisticated, beautiful, and sexy.  With every single piece she wears she takes the award for BEST DRESSED on my list.  The French designer Alexandre Vauthier gown had a deep v-neck and thigh-high slit that she paired with gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels fit for a goddess and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Let me know what your favorites are from the Oscars red carpet & Vanity Fair Party! All of these women stunned and took my breath away last sunday!

Stay tuned for more!
